David Usasz

David Usasz brings a strong financial background to the the Carter & Spencer Advisory Board.

David joined Price Waterhouse (as it was known then) as a graduate in the Brisbane office, spending his first year in auditing before moving on to taxation services. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1980, he was sent to Papua New Guinea on a 3 month stint before taking on a new challenge in heading up the tax division in Brisbane on his return.

It was only a few years before the bright lights of Hong Kong were a regular part of life for David as he tackled international business taxation for major Australian companies dealing in Asia, including well known organisations such as Elders, Westpac and HSBC.

His return to Brisbane has heralded some of his most outstanding achievements including running the private client practise after making partner in 1987. He soon took on the area of Business Services managing 40 partners and more than 450 staff across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, PNG and Indonesia.

David was appointed as the national Director of the Australasian Corporate Finance practice of the business in 1993, adding Thailand to his portfolio. This was closely followed by the merger to form PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1997 and as the Partner-in-Charge, oversaw the largest office in Queensland for the group.

The majority of David’s professional career has been spent on advising businesses in both the Government and private sectors in relation to management issues surrounding success and growth. In addition to his overall management of the Corporate Finance practice, a significant portion of his time is now devoted to advising and assisting on transactions for the development, merger or sale of businesses. He has also advised many Asian investors and in addition to his three years in Hong Kong spent considerable time travelling from Australia to Japan, Taiwan, Jakarta and Singapore.

David brings significant experience in business valuations; commercial advice; strategic advice; corporate and infrastructure advice; merger and acquisitions of businesses; Australia-Asia business relations.
